Reminders : I good place to start is with Statements of Meaning. You don’t have to submit a statement of meaning but can help you form ideas about the work you saw and start to think of questions to develop. Statements of Meaning: Responders state what was meaningful, evocative, interesting, exciting, striking in the work they have just witnessed. After, you create a neutral questions. It is good to work through editing your neutral question so they are using the wording correctly to be truly neutral. Neutral Questions: Responders ask neutral questions about the work. The artist responds. Questions are neutral when they do not have an opinion couched in them. For example, if you are discussing the lighting of a scene, “Why was it so dark?” is not a neutral question. “What ideas guided your choices about lighting?” is. *I am NOT asking for your opinion at all. Please keep your opinions out of this assignment.
