I. Topic
Discuss how addiction is understood across the various theories, positions and/or models in the field. Explain, in specific, what are the strengths and weaknesses of the disease models of addiction and critically illuminate why are these models of alcoholism/addiction controversial in many quarters

In the introduction besides the disease model two other theories should be included. First moral theory and then incentive sensitization theory

II. INSTRUCTIONS
The paper should demonstrate that the student has thought critically about the subject matter. Critical review/argumentative paper on recent biological and psycho-social research on controversial medical, social, and ethical issues related to drug addiction (1,500 words long double space, 12-point font, standard margins, APA STYLE). Papers with a deviation of a 10% will not get penalized.
You will perform a search to identify at least 12 research articles (quantitative and/or qualitative research) that bear on your topic. Strictly theoretical articles are welcome as a complementary material, but do not count as part of the mandatory 12 research articles).
Your paper should rely at the greater extent on primary sources (journal articles) and not secondary sources (textbooks). Chapters in edited books are usually primary sources (reprints of journal articles).
You should write the paper in your own words, taking the ideas in the articles and expressing them as you understand them. You will provide a citation for the article from which those ideas came.
Use direct quotes only if the way the author expressed the idea is so important that you cannot possibly change it and maintain the integrity of the idea. When you do include direct quotes, make sure that each quote has a single citation identifying the source, and a page number.
Consult the APA Publication manual (7th Edition) for details.
III. FORMAT
Your paper should have a cover page, an abstract, the main body critically reviewing the chosen topic including at least 12 references of research articles, and a reference list, all in APA format.
