Explain the differentiation Gilbert makes between passion and curiosity. Which does she find more friendly and why?
Building on Gilbert’s idea that we can usually pinpoint moments when creativity was taken away from us, think about when you first might have felt “left out” of writing and tell that story. If you can’t pinpoint a moment think about what might push you away from writing or have kept you from embracing it. If you feel comfortable writing, tell that story–what made you like it? “I just never liked it” or “it isn’t my thing” is not an adequate response. Dig deep and be reflective!
