People often consider algorithms and programming complicated. We use algorithms every day, we just don’t think about them as such. Programming is taking that algorithm and writing it in a manner that a computer would understand. Today, our computer will be a human.
Identify something you do every day. Write an algorithm to accomplish that task and discuss why that task is important. Share your algorithm and evaluate if it can be done more efficiently or effectively in some way.
Examples might include: Making a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich. Making your favorite meal. Tying your shoes. Getting your kids ready for school.
