Address the significance of value in Alice Walker’s “Everyday Use.” Remember that the value of anything (object, action, or even an abstract like heritage and love) can be determined and/or qualified in any number of ways–such as usefulness, the status it confers, morality, sentiment, etc) and that a thing’s worth is not always agreed upon (it’s value is ultimately determined by the individual).
I suggest focusing your response on a specific object, or a specific character. Your response should contain some semblance of an argument, (a thesis statement) and should incorporate at least one secondary source into your response. Cite your source (and the primary text itself) using MLA style.
You can approach this subject in any number of ways, so long as your focus is on the text itself. Format your properly, and upload as a .doc file type. 300-500 words (1-2 pages). Good Luck.
