Social Entrepreneurship – Reflection

All entrepreneurial work focuses on the customer’s needs. Spend an hour at a place of suffering, try to understand
the needs you see and consider an innovative approach that would alleviate suffering. Don’t reflect on a time from
long ago – needs to be current.

Think like a social entrepreneur – in this environment, what does the sufferer need
now and long-term? What specific idea would you employ to relieve the pain or help the client to thrive (consider in
terviewing a client)? Would your innovation be focused on service delivery or behind the scenes improvements?

(The environment could be a homeless shelter, a hospital lobby, a soup kitchen, under a homeless bridge, at a thrift store, driving through an impoverished neighborhood, sitting in a jail parking lot, a hospice house, an animal
shelter…you get the idea. Be creative, and welcome to our study on social entrepreneurship!)
