Note:

• Essays are not to include external library research. Your conceptual analysis/ brainstorming should provide sufficient material to build your essay. Choose a new topic rather than incorporate external research.
• Remember that the essay grading is determined in part by an assessment of the breadth and depth of the analysis presented in your final essay. Accordingly, include in your outline, first, second, and possibly third-level details to help ensure you develop your analysis as concretely and thoroughly as you can.
• When brainstorming, consider exploring alternative causal or predictive analyses as well as differing Social Context(s) of the topic before committing to your essay outline.
• Attempt to limit your analysis to no more than two examples.
• Concerning Question #1: Since a number of causal factors may contribute to the result, be prepared to explain how they work together to bring about this end. Since there are different types of causal factors, consider which is (are) most critical and relevant.
• Concerning Question #2: To increase the breadth of your examination you may wish to consider examining the consequences in relation to the social context of someone, or some organization or institution that is concerned about the topic under examination.
• Be careful that your essay does not present an evaluation of the causal factors that argues for or against the topic or a prescriptive essay that argues for a course of action to deal with the consequences.
