Submission task 1
This task is individual and consists of you answering the following four questions which are linked
to the first four chapters in the course literature.
It is important to use your own descriptions at
the answers to the questions and that you use the textbooks and other sources only as
references to your answers.
Remember to cite when you reproduce something from the sources.
The answers do not have to be longer than about half an A4 page of text per question. If you have figures with i
the answers, the answers can of course take up more space than half a page.
Question 1
Logistics strategies can be designed in a variety of ways, which will mean different requirements
placed on the supply chain. For example, discuss how a supply chain for a product that
has the order winner price should be designed compared to a supply chain where the product has
order winner time. Is it possible for the same supply chain to distribute both
low-cost products and expensive fashion items with a very short life cycle?
Question 2
Why customer service, costs and capital tied up are important concepts to understand
as well as try to achieve a higher flexibility? Explain and discuss this. It is also possible to
supplement with own experience.
Question 3
Different flows in a supply chain have been described such as: the material flow, the information flow and
the financial flow. Discuss what characterizes the different flows and what they are like
interconnected. Feel free to combine with a descriptive example from real companies.
Question 4
Internationalization means that the business is exposed to increased risks. Describe and discuss
several possible such risks in such a process and propose measures that can reduce them.

Reference to the course literature or, where applicable, other sources must be clearly identified
