You are required to undertake primary and secondary research in order to develop a 10-minute presentation that compares and contrasts a cultural policy or policy approach in the UK and Holland. You will choose a current issue in cultural policy to use as your main policy area

Your presentation should explain:
What the policy area is;
What the main issues are (e.g. is this a subsidised sector that needs funding, or a commercial area that needs copyright laws reviewing) and what each country/city wants to achieve;
What the tools are that the government or local authority has at its disposal (legislation, taxation, funding, creation of bodies to support and develop etc.);
How each country deploys these tools;
What the outcomes are for artists, arts organisations and audiences (use the case studies you have researched in each country).
Your presentation outline should consider the assessment criteria, and the recommended structure for the presentation is:

Your references should include governmental policy documents, interview transcripts and academic sources including articles from academic journals in the arts and festivals management field (i.e. Cultural Trends and the International Journal of Cultural Policy).
