For this assignment, students will select a topic that you believe is currently impacting the American public. Your papers should focus on issues at the national level. It is expected that students will make a well-reasoned argument while addressing the issue as a whole. The paper should also make a reasonable effort to address who the problem impacts, and the groups and/or important individuals involved, the governments response, and what you believe the government could do differently. The paper should be 4-5 pages long, properly formatted, (Times New Roman, 12 pt., double spaced, 1”margins), include both in-text citations and references page. You should have a minimum of 5 scholarly sources that do not include the readings assigned in class. You are welcome to go beyond the 5 sources and include other sources, but you should have at least 5 scholarly references.
