What was the government’s rationale?

Anti-Trust Laws exist to both
prevent and to break up monopolies. First, research the Sherman and the Clayton
Act and briefly summarize the intent and the impact of these laws. Then do some
research and find an example (company or industry) where the government stepped
in to enforce these laws and prohibit a monopoly from emerging. What was the
government’s rationale? Was there opposition to the enforcement of the law? Did
the government wait to long (in some opinions). Be careful not to use
sources that are overly biased to one political leaning or the other. Maintain
balance.

Your paper should be approximately 3 to 4 pages and use 3 sources.
Margins no greater than 1 inch all around, line spacing should be 1.5 and a
font comparable to Times New Roman 12 pt. Citation style can be APA, Chicago or
MLA (see below). As a this is a social science course, APA is the preferred.
But as a business professor, I use Chicago, too. Really though, I am good
with any of the three styles. Pick your preference.
