With emerging technologies, the increased use of the Internet, and in particular, social media sites, there is an opportunity to disseminate information about the criminal justice system to a large and diverse audience. In fact, approximately 7 in 10 Americans use social media sites (Auxier & Anderson, 2021). Raising awareness about issues in correctional psychology may improve public knowledge and attitudes about the criminal justice system and individuals who are formerly incarcerated.
Instructions. You will first choose a research study that you want to raise awareness about that
is relevant to correctional psychology. The topic of the study is up to you and your own interests related to correctional psychology! Make sure your study fits with the definition we discuss in module 1. You cannot use any articles that we discuss in this course. If you want to confirm whether your article is appropriate, please email Alissa or your CA.
Twitter is a great platform to disseminate and discuss academic scholarship and it is a great way to help you learn how to write clear and concise messages. You will compose a 280-character tweet that raises awareness about your topic and presents the findings of the research study you have chosen. Your tweet should have at least one hashtag. You must provide the link to the journal article in your submission. Click here
