Instructions:
Choose 1 of the following topics, and write a thesis-driven essay in response to that topic:
1. Leadership Styles: Choose two of the readings from Weeks 4 and 5 and consider the leadership styles presented within them. Are the leadership styles more alike or different? Focus your thesis on arguing how the styles are more similar/different, and support your argument by discussing only passages from the two readings.
2. Judging Leaders: Choose 1 leader/text from Weeks 1-3 and 1 leader/text from Weeks 4 or 5. How would the leader from Weeks 1-3 judge the leadership or principles from Weeks 4 or 5? Support your argument by discussing only passages from the texts you chose.
3. Modern Leadership: Choose 1 text from Weeks 1-5 and use the principles and ideas regarding leadership presented in the text to evaluate modern leadership (this could be the US government, a specific president current or past, a leader in business, etc.). What would the author of the text think of the modern leader based on their beliefs about how a leader should act? For this question only, you may consult credible, scholarly outside research to help support your argument.
The essay should be in MLA essay format (see the sample essay attached below) and use MLA citations. A works cited entry and in-text citations for each text discussed are required.
The essay should be focused on making a debatable claim about the text(s) in question; informational essays or essays consisting of summary are not appropriate. The claim should be supported with discussion of specific passages from the text(s) on which the essay is focused.
