Interview report

Assignment Description
Interview someone who has migrated from another country to the United States within the last 10 years. Submit a 3-4 page, double-spaced, word-processed report in which you relate your experience to one of the following Cultural Adaptation models:

Anxiety and Uncertainty Management Model , (Martin & Nakayama, 2022, Chapter 8, pp. 318-319)
The Transition Model, (Martin & Nakayama, 2022, Chapter 8, pp. 319-320)
Integrative Model, (Martin & Nakayama, 2022, Chapter 8, pp. 320-322)
U-Curve Model, (Martin & Nakayama, 2022, Chapter 8, pp. 323-326)
Phenomenological Model, (Martin & Nakayama, 2022, Chapter 8, pp. 329-332)
How to Proceed
Select someone that has migrated from another country to the United States within the last 10 years and set up a time to interview them.
Write a set of respectful interview questions that you can ask to the migrant that will help you gather information about their culture, why they chose to migrate to the United States, and their challenges of transitioning into the United States.
Conduct a 20-30 minute interview with the migrant.
Write a report about your experience.
Format for the Report
Typically, each workplace has its own preferred format for written reports. For the reports for this class, please use the following format, comprised of seven sections. Set each section off with a heading, as explained below.

Overview
The overview of the report serves as a brief summary. An effective overview will include one or two sentences for each section of the report. Summarize the content of each section. Although the overview consolidates your information from a number of topics, it should read as one smoothly flowing paragraph.

Culture
Give an overview of the culture that you investigated. Conduct research about the culture. Include your research (and citations) into the country and the migrant’s personal experiences.

Reason for Migration
Give a brief summary of the individual’s reason for migrating to the United States. Explain what type of migrant group they belong to (Martin & Nakayama, 2022, Chapter 8, pp. 306-310).

Theory
List and explain the Adaptation Model that can be applied to your migrant’s experience. You should explain the basic concepts and assumptions of the theory. You should use quotes and citations in this section from the textbook.

Analysis
Analyze your experience using the chosen model. Use specific examples from your experience to illustrate the concepts of the theory.

Reflection
Reflect on your experience by asking yourself the following questions:

How did you feel about this project before the interview?
What did you learn about the culture that you investigated?
Did your attitude change throughout this project?
Did the application of theory help you to understand your experience?
How can you incorporate what you learned in your project in future classes, in your career and in your life?
Identify your personal growth toward a more ethnorelative point of view.
References

**Include your interview questions as an appendix to your paper.
