APA style format required to write the essay and should include the following:
Title page (1 page) + 5-7 page essay + References page(s)
One (1) inch margins
8.5 x 11 size paper
Font and Font size permitted – refer to APA website
Double-spaced
No abstract required
No running head required
Headers are required to organize and clearly indicate what information you are addressing in the body of the paper.
The midterm essay should be well written as a first-person narrative and have the following information:
A. Introduction (1-2 pages) – do not use the word introduction as a header
A summary of your chosen major/concentration and why it appeals to you.
B. Industry Research (2-3 pages)
Provide a research-based analysis of an industry that you are interested in. Include the types of jobs in the field (sample job titles, functions, example companies), what the job entails (duties and work environment), and education, experience, and skills needed.
C. Reflection (2-3 pages)
A reflection and analysis of your assessment results and what you learned.
Provide a synthesis of how your results tie into your industry research and your chosen major/concentration.
D. References
Begins on a separate page from the last page of paper.
Midterm paper should include at least four references (articles, books, etc.) cited in APA style.
Reference page should be your last page in the paper and starting on a separate page.
In-text sources must be cited in your paper as well.
You can use the resources we discussed in the Target Market List lecture (week 2) for your research section.
No job postings or job position descriptions can be used as a citation in references.
An assessment can only be counted as one citation in references.
