I need you to pick five European and/or African artworks (painting or sculpture), made between 1200 and 1600, to briefly discuss in writing. For each artwork, the main part of the discussion will be to choose one descriptive term/concept from the list below, and apply it to the artwork. Then you will explain specifically why you think the term/concept is a good fit for that artwork. You will also identify which period/style each artwork belongs to and briefly identify any traits you see in the artwork that relate to its period/style.
-This should be around 3 pages, double-spaced, assuming reasonable margins.
-Your project should use five different terms from the list, for five different artworks.
-You can write about any painting or sculpture found in the textbook I will provide for you (chapters 14 through 23). For African art, you would use the StokstadEarlyAfricanArt PDF
-You can also write about any painting or sculpture made between 1200 and 1600 that is found in the powerpoints, even if it is not in the textbook.
-DO NOT quote anything from any source!!! Summarize information from sources in your own words (and if you absolutely have to use a brief direct quote, make sure you cite the source and keep it to the bare minimum)
I will be providing the guidelines for the paper that has all the information, from the list of styles/periods to the description terms/concepts you need for the discussion. So please read all of that so you have a better idea what to do and what not to do. Also, providing the textbook link to a dropbox since the file is too big and the African art PDF so that you can pick the art you want to discuss.
