My parents immigrated to this country 24 years ago. In search for the American dream. They both grew up in a home where they struggled financially. They have worked hard their whole lives. Worked 3 jobs at a time, sometimes even more. My dad had a stable job and got fired because he “missed a day of work.” After this my family struggled more than ever. Finding a job remotely close to that was arduous, considering they are not citizens. They continue to work hard to provide a better life not only for my siblings and I but our family in Costa Rica as well. I once stuggled with depression and even paying for therapy was difficult. So much so that I could not continue attending. My parents income is not much, about 25,000-30,000 per year, it is enough to put food on our table and a roof over our heads. But unfortunately it is not enough to pay for college. This is why I wish to attended, I want to hopefully one day have a stable career and give to them as much as they have given to me. As well as provide a financially stres free life fro my kids.
