What sort of American society do they imagine should their visions become reality?

HIST 202 PAPER ASSIGNMENT
By the end of April 30, students will submit electronically a double-spaced paper of no less than four pages based upon three readings.
The sources for this project concern America’s modern civil rights movement. You have sources from the leading racial integrationist of the time, Martin Luther King, Jr., as well as a noted black nationalist, Malcolm X, and a militant organization known as the Black Panther Party.
The purpose of this project is to compare/contrast the viewpoints found in these documents. In the process you could ask yourself the following questions. What American values seem to be influencing their positions? What tone and tactics of persuasion can you detect in their arguments? What are the pros and cons of their strategies for change? What sort of American society do they imagine should their visions become reality? If you are trained in the five-paragraph format typically taught in English classes, you are welcome to use it or a more sophisticated format as you see fit.
