Film/Show Pitch.

This assignment is designed to celebrate the knowledge and experiences you bring to this class by having you design an aspect of the course. You will be asked to pitch a film or Show (TV, Streaming, etc.) that you think should be included in the course. You will present your argument by relating your chosen piece of media to the topics and objectives of the class and using evidence to show why this is a great example.

Review the course syllabus: look at each module and the learning objectives of each.
Choose a film or tv show that you would like to pitch. If you are choosing a TV show you MUST choose a specific episode. The film or show you select can be a fictional, a documentary, or even a non-narrative art piece. It can be a blockbuster film or a festival film, a TV show or a streaming show, or something that somebody put up on YouTube. The one limiting factor is that it can NOT be something already included in the syllabus (so make sure to review past and future pieces we will be covering in this course).
Introduce your selected material which should include:
Who made it, when was it made, and what is it about?
Is there anything that stands out about it?
The name of the film cited in the following format: Title (Director, Year Released), for a TV show it should be Title (Creator or Producer, Years released). Once you have written that information once, you can just refer to the title of the film.
4. Make an Argument: Why should this film or show episode be included in the course? Make sure when making your argument that you directly relate the why to an element we have studied or will study in the course. For example, is it an excellent example of cinematography (Module 1) or perhaps does it present a very important message in a unique way (Module 3)?

5. Analyze the film or show to support your argument. You must include at least one SCENE ANALYSIS to specifically show why this piece of media is so special.

6. Outside evidence: You must include at least one quote from an article, book, podcast, video, etc. about your selected material showing why it is so important. Note: this should be supporting your argument; having a quote about a plot line is not supporting your argument and is something you should be able to summarize. This should be a critical opinion about an aspect of the filmmaker, the piece of media, etc.
