Video-Based Grocery Shopping Intervention Effect on Purchasing Behaviors Among Latina Shoppers – ARTICLE

1. Explain how generalizability of the study’s findings from the sample to the population of interest
is limited by the three threats to external validity (i.e., selection, setting, and history). Provide
sufficient detail and specificity.

2. The study’s sampling approach can use more clarity. The authors recruited some participants
from Head Start programs which are federally funded programs that provide early childhood
education, programming (e.g., health, nutrition), and parental assistance to low-income families
with young children. Families need to register for Head Start to receive services and
programming. Pretend that you are replicating the Amaro et al. (2017) study but are expanding
the population to include persons of all races/ethnicities. Describe how you would use specific
probability sampling in 3 scenarios: 1) simple random sampling, 2) stratified random sampling,
and 3) systematic sampling.
