Most victims of intimate partner violence (IPV) eventually leave the situation, but for many people, leaving is a long process. Why do you think leaving takes so long? Why would someone stay in an abusive situation? Be sure to identify both cultural and personal characteristics.
The most extreme and fatal form of IPV is uxoricide, which is the killing of one’s wife. Since most of these cases do not provide any extensive history on whether the wife was subject to a pattern of abuse, how can we bring awareness to an unspoken issue? Please share any recent cases in the media about this, and do you foresee uxoricide becoming more prevalent. If so, then why, AND how can it be prevented?
