Literature review of sources for Criminological Research Paper

I have to conduct a Literature review on my collected sources for a criminology research paper. My research
question is: ” How does placement in the foster care system impact incarceration rates for
populations having at least one parent in prison?” This is a statistical research paper using the
following;
Independant Variable:
Foster Care

Dependant Variable:
Incarceration rates

Control Variables:
Bio Dad Incarcerated/not incarcerated
Bio Mom incarcerated/not incarcerated
Deliquency/arrests/time spent incarcerated before the age of 18

The literature review should be a discursive prose, 3-4 pages double spaced, references on the
last page, APA format, and:
1. Be organized around and related directly to the research question you are developing.
2. Synthesize results into a summary of what is and is not known.
3. Identify areas of controversy in the literature.
4. Formulate questions that need further research.

It’s a bad sign to see every paragraph beginning with the name of a researcher or journal. Instead, organize the literature review into sections that present themes/topic areas of focus or identify trends, and organize the articles into supporting evidence/arguments underneath.

I will be using SPSS to perform Statistical evaluations of data from Adolescent Health Survey Waves 1-4 merged. My
position is that foster care placement in addition to at least one
parent being incarcerated is statistically significant for higher than aaverage risk of delinquency, arrest, and incarceration rates. I will
use the ANNOVA test and a Linear regression of the data to
evaluate the collected data.
