Question 1 (12+ sentences, 2 paragraphs). America’s historical treatment of racial groups has traditionally been very much shaped by the state of America’s economy. In approximately 12 sentences, discuss two historical examples of how the state of America’s economy shaped its treatment of Mexican Americans. In other words, please discuss how U.S. economic interests and new developments in the U.S. economy impacted the way Mexican Americans got treated and racialized in this country. For each example, please discuss the treatment of Mexican Americans and then connect it to an economic change, development, or motivation.
