The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate your ability to use theory to understand, interpret, assess, and address a real world problem, issue, situation, or challenge relevant to course content and healthcare leaders.
The paper needs to address a specific real world problem or issue in practice or the work environment that can be analyzed and addressed by leaders using theory. You must select either authentic leadership theory or
transformational leadership theory for this paper.
The real world side of the equation must be a problem, issue, situation, or challenge in
nursing/health services. This may be an issue we discussed in the course (e.g.,
workplace bullying, burnout, job satisfaction, or patient safety) or another relevant
issue. In this paper, you must clearly:
• Articulate the issue
• Discuss the nature and antecedents of the issue and its implications/significance
• Select a leadership theory (authentic leadership theory or transformational
leadership theory) to apply to the problem/issue
• Propose alternatives/solutions related to the issue
• Discuss implications of your solutions or approaches
Evaluation of this assignment will include:
• A clear statement of purpose
• A clear plan for how the paper will unfold
• Evidence that you followed the plan
• Clear identification of the real world issue
• Clear identification of the particular theoretical perspective
• Evidence that you understand both the issue and the theoretical perspective
• Potential for transferability to, for example, policymakers, educators, etc.
• Clear, cogent writing and adherence to APA (7th ed.)
I’ve attached the rubric and draft of the outline. The paper should reflect both the outline and the assignments
requirements as per the rubric. I provided a draft solution for the issue but you can replace it if there are better
solutions. The 3 solutions should also reflect the components of Authentic Leadership (describe how each of thesolution links to the 4 componenets of Authentic Leadership
