When you consider your “model(s) of aging,” what comes to mind?

For this Signature Assignment, choose 1-2 individuals to interview and gather information about the following:
Historical events and/or factors occurring in any life stage that impact(ed) their aging process.

Interpersonal experiences occurring in any life stage that impact(ed) their aging process.

Educational and career choices and experiences occurring in any life stage that impact(ed) their aging process.

Physical, cognitive and/or other health factors and/or changes occurring in any life stage that impact(ed) their aging process.

Then, address all of the following in your final paper:
Briefly describe who your model(s) are and how they are aging. Include demographic information (e.g., age, sex, gender, educational history, employment history).

What events and experiences occurring earlier in life impacted their development in late life? What linkages do you see? Think about their physical, motor, cognitive, and interpersonal development when answering this question.

How has gender, SES, educational level, and level of sociability contributed to their aging process?

Identify and describe at least 2 social theories of aging, and apply both of your choices to your model(s). The social theories of aging include activity theory, disengagement theory, and continuity theory, all of which are discussed in Berk. Include examples of how your model(s)’ history and experiences connect to the 2 theories and/or how the models seem to illustrate the theories.
