The specific research problem that will be addressed through this study is The literature on identifying, placing, and supporting K-3 students with disabilities identifies collaboration as key to success (Mulholland and O’Conner, 2016; Tichenor & Tichenor, 2019; Villavicencio et al., 2021). In the State of Texas, policy changes have led to increased identification of K-3 students with disabilities, and little is known about how collaboration is used to identify, place and support these students. The purpose of this Qualitative study is to is to explore the experiences of Texas general and special education teachers with collaboration to identify, place, and support K-3 students with disabilities. RESEARCH QUESTIONS What are the experiences of Texas special education teachers when collaborating with general education teachers to identify, place, and support K-3 students with disabilities? What are the experiences of Texas general education teachers when collaborating with special education teachers to identify, place, and support K-3 students with disabilities?
