Review Chapter 1 and previous CHAD 133 observation tools to complete an observation on your selected topic. OBSERVATION NEEDS TO BE DONE IN PERSON
Conduct an observation on a child regarding the topic of your choice. This can be difficult to conceptualize to directly relate to your topic. Instead do the observation and broadly connect how the behaviors observed relate to your topic. For example if your topic is on attachment, you might look for cues on how the child interacts with the parent that demonstrate an attachment style such as proximity, touch and/or language. The goal of this assignment is to observe child in their setting and complete the worksheet to be able to inform you further on social and emotional development in children.
Observation should be about 30-60 minutes.

Naturalistic Observation
Due to Covid-19 limitations you will identify 2 youtube video or a media video about 5-10minutes. Describe what you observed in the video. Describe the environment in what you see, is child friendly, the activity, child’s level of involvement, parent’s role. As you are observing this video describe the strengthens and describe the relevancy to your topic.
Child Profile: Provide age (or apparent age) and gender of subjects. Provide any other details about the sample that might influence the findings. Include information about cultural and familial background. (4-5pages)
