This is a review paper on the role of streams and rivers in the global carbon cycle. While I would like you to include all the ways that rivers/streams influence the global carbon cycle (photosynthesis, foodwebs, organic matter, cellular respiration, soil respiration), I would like you to focus primarily on the stream/rivers’ effects on the ocean (coastal waters – where rivers/streams will usually connect to the ocean – and provide an abundance of carbon for that coastal ecosystem.)
