About this Assignment
For this assignment, you will be required to write a 750 to 1,000-word case study that analyzes how globalization and technology have impacted work and workplace relationships.
First, you must identify an industry (banking, manufacturing, retail, information technology, communications, agriculture, customer service, etc.) to use for the case study. Perform research on the sector, including major corporations within it, typical workers, and how work and workers within it have been impacted by globalization, immigration, and technology in the last thirty years. Explain how these changes have influenced the personal relationships and work tasks within their organization. Conclude with an appraisal of whether the changes have been a benefit or harm to the lives and livelihoods of the workers.
The assignment should contain the following sections:
• Introduction
o Identify the industry that you’ve selected for the assignment and why you selected it. Describe the basic operations of the industry, its place in society, its major corporations, and types of work performed by employees within the industry.
• Globalization and Immigration
o Explain how globalization and immigration have impacted the workers within the industry and the relationships that they have with one another.
• Technology
o Explain how technology has impacted the workers within the industry and the relationships that they have with one another.
• Evaluation of Impact
o Discuss whether the changes you’ve identified have been a benefit or harm to the lives and livelihoods of the workers.
Formatting & Sources
Please write your paper in the APA format. As part of your research, you may refer to the course material for supporting evidence, but you must also use at least three credible, outside sources and cite them using APA format as well. Please include a mix of both primary and secondary sources, with at least one source from a scholarly peer-reviewed journal. If you use any Study.com lessons as sources, please also cite them in APA (including the lesson title and instructor’s name).
• Primary sources are first-hand accounts such as interviews, advertisements, speeches, company documents, statements, and press releases published by the company in question.

You may use like JSTOR, Google Scholar, and Social Science Research Network to find articles from these journals. Secondary sources may also come from reputable websites with .gov, .edu, or .org in the domain. (Wikipedia is not a reputable source, though the sources listed in Wikipedia articles may be acceptable.)
