Coursework Two: Reflective report. For this assignment students will write a critical report on their group pilot study, reflecting on the research process and critically engaging with the literature on their chosen research method in relation to their research practice. That it is NOT simply a research report presenting the findings of the pilot study. Students are expected to show evidence of critical reflection on their group pilot study drawing on the academic literature on research methods. The essay should combine reflection on practice with a discussion of issues related to methodology and research design.
Points to consider when writing this assignment:
– Outline the main aims of your group’s research project;
– Discuss the academic context and the core rationale for your project
– Critically reflect on the theoretical assumptions of your chosen research questions and method
Examine the experience of undertaking a group research project. What went well and what went wrong, and why? Discuss with reference to the relevant literature
– Assess the suitability and also any limitations in employing the chosen methods for your particular research topic
– Examine the findings and the extent to which they fulfill your research aims/answer your research questions
– Are there things that you could have done differently/better?
