Choose one emic issue for a culture discussed in Chapter Five in the textbook and research at least two resources that discuss how this issue might lead to a crisis or negatively effect the mental health of a college student who identifies with that culture or heritage. This exercise will fulfill the following objectives for this module: “Understand a crisis from a multicultural perspective.”
The resources selected may consist of research studies, journal articles, documentaries, videos, books, or news articles, but all must reflect research or study of the emic issue and not portray individual or subjective opinion alone.
A. Describe the emic issue that is presented and researched in the resources located.
B. Summarize the findings or conclusions presented in the resources.
C. Compare and contrast the information from the textbook specifically to the information presented in the resources. Is there agreement between your research and the textbook information? Explain information from your research that supports the textbook. Discuss any conflicting information or additional insight provided on the issue.
