Who Are You Now as a Leader?
Explain your preferred leadership style, why it appeals to you and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this approach.
Using the results of your personal leadership SWOT analysis (from the Unit 9 Learning Activity), discuss what you learned about yourself as a leader for each area: your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Your Personal Leadership Vision Statement
This statement seeks to answer the following questions:
What kind of leader do I want to be?
What do I want to accomplish in my personal and professional life?
Why are these accomplishments important? And what kind of leader do I want to be?”
As you prepare to write your personal leadership vision statement, keep the following questions in mind for guidance:
Who do you want to be (i.e., what type of character do you want to display)?
What do you want to achieve or contribute (to your family, your company and/or the world)? Helpful Tip: Picture yourself at the age of 80, and think about what you would regret not having done by then for some inspiration.
What do you want people to know or remember you for?
Why? What’s your motivation?
