Throughout this course, we have studied a broad range of literature covering the literary genres of poetry, drama, and the short story from various literary periods including, but not limited to, The Romantic Age, The Victorian Age, the Modern Age, as well as The Contemporary Age.
Choose an author studied this semester and write a 4-5-page research paper on your chosen author’s significance to their particular literary period.
The body and core of your essay should discuss:
3-4 significant pieces of significant biographical information on your chosen author.
3-4 major publications of your chosen author.
3-4 examples of how these particular publications represent the major views or ideas of the author’s respective literary period.
1. For the “research component” of your paper, you will use a minimum of 3 contrasting secondary sources including scholarly books, journal articles, and professional websites in addition to the primary text, which will be used to support your analysis.
2. The paper must be a minimum of 4-5 typed double-spaced pages and be typed in 12-size font.
3. All “in-text citations” and “parenthetical notes” must be properly cited throughout the paper according to proper MLA format. Include a proper “works cited page” at the end of the paper.
4. The paper must illustrate proper MLA essay structure and formatting including astrong introduction and thesis statement, strong evidence including effective quotations to support your analysis, and an effective conclusion commenting on your overall dominant impression of the chosen author researched.
