Adolescents and “flawed logic.”

Adolescents are not only in search of independence and autonomy, they are developing the cognitive skills they need to make their own decisions. As you learned in Chapter 9 and the lecture, though, their decision-making processes don’t always have their intended outcomes. Reflect on your own adolescence, or on your observations of an adolescent you know, and share an example of a time when a decision was made using “flawed logic.” State the chain of logical thought that was followed using ‘If… Then… Therefore’ statements. Then, explain whether this decision was a quest for emotional, behavioral, or cognitive autonomy, and include evidence from the text to support your argument.
