In the beginning of the semester, you will select one of the three scientific/technological innovations, discussed in the course, to further assess its potential consequences in at least five areas from culture, health, welfare, equity, ethics, and environment. You will produce: (a) a double-sided communication material that summarizes the key arguments, presented by the two opposing positions, and the evidence used to support their position; and (b) a video presentation (3-5 minutes in length) to be used as the “introduction” in facilitation a public deliberation of that technological innovation among diverse audience. In order to successfully generate these two products, you will submit two smaller assignments — results of literature search and annotated bibliography.
