For my term paper I would like to further analyze Sassanian culture through the research of cultural aspects
historically depicted within their society. I will complete an analysis and research process of forms such as
characteristics that make up the Sassanian identity, cultural aspects such as language, communication,
technology, architecture, religion, art, fashion, and sociocultural morality, norms, and customs.
* Your bibliography should have no less than 5 outside sources. These must be scholarly works,
from reputable sources.
* The period covered by the paper must be between c.200 to c.650. The area must be regions directly affected by the Sasanians. Other areas may be acceptable but you should talk to me first.
* The paper should have four distinct sections: 1) Introduction in which you explain the subject and what you intend to do and present a question for analysis (about 1 page). 2) Background survey of events important to your topic, i.e. the “setting” for your topic (2 pages). 3) Analysis (the bulk of the paper) in which you present the evidence and make the arguments. 3) Conclusion in which you summarize your analysis and answer the question raised in the introduction (1 page).
* Paper should include footnotes or endnotes and a bibliography with proper citation methods. Unlike the short essays, grammar, structure and spelling will matter.
