For this assignment students are required to write a 20 page essay on a relevant topic of their choice
pertaining to any of the central themes of the course. Students are strongly advised to build on, and
incorporate the information presented in their research proposal and literature review in the final term paper.
You are strongly encouraged to adapt your essay to a country and/or issue-specific case study or other
relevant example. The essay must bear the hallmark of a publishable academic work and must have the following main features:
An abstract not exceeding 150 words
• A title that reflects the argument or question being explored
• A table of contents
•A list of references or works cited, a minimum of 10 scholarly journals and/or books
