The second PowerPoint will be on a real-life solved documentary episode from 48 Hours, 20/20, True Crime or any real-life crime program. I am looking for non-fictional actions by investigators that occur in the show that helped the investigator solve the case. What technology, techniques, or strategies did real life investigators use to solve the case? What was the evidence? What did you learn from the investigators handling the case?
After viewing the program, research some aspect of the investigative procedure covered in the program in either an academic journal such as Journal of Forensic Science, an investigations textbook, or a narrowly focused trade journal such as Police Chief, Law & Order, or FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin. Your submission should indicate what you learned in your episode, making sure to emphasize how your reading either supports or refutes (fact or fiction) what was covered in the television program. Your sources must be cited!
