Prompt
1. In this week’s lecture, we discussed the idea that there is no one size fits all approach to leadership. There are numerous leadership theories and style. As we discussed, there is often value in being knowledgeable about many different theories. For this discussion board, I would like you to reflect on which of the theories you find most convincing. Then summarize the theory in your own words and explain why you selected this theory.

2. Describe the five dimensions of trust discussed in our textbook. Next, explain how trust impacts leadership. Finally, discuss at least one strategy you can use to help build trusting relationships with others.

3. Watch Dan Pink’s TED talk, The Puzzle of Motivation. What do you think about his argument that there is a “mismatch between what science knows and what business does”? Next, read Vanessa Loder’s article, How Great Leaders Motivate their teams. What do you think about the author’s argument that it is human nature to need to believe in something? Both Pink and Loder seem to be arguing that intrinsic factors are essential to motivating performance. To what extent do you agree? How would you relate this to the motivational theories we read about in these chapters?

2. Describe the five dimensions of trust discussed in our textbook.
