Essay checklist:
• Remember that your task is not just to describe the events associated with your person or group, but to critically reflect on how public representations of the group or individual exemplifies or challenges dominant constructions of national identity, and the meanings of class, gender and race in Australia
• Reference at least 4 works of academic scholarship (journal articles, book chapters) and 2 primary sources (historical documents).
• Make sure your essay has a clear argument/purpose that you are trying to convey to the reader throughout.
• Structure your essay carefully so that it consists of 2-4 sub-arguments that support your main argument.
• Include in-text referencing and a reference list. In-text referencing counts towards your word count but the reference list itself does not.
• Post drafts of your essay to the discussion board by the start of Week 8 for feedback from peers.
• Submit online through Turnitin.
