All rules for general punctuation and mechanics must be followed (if any student struggles in this area, ASC tutoring is still available)
The paper must have a centered title above the abstract

The second paragraph must be a the general-to-specific intro paragraph that ends in the explicit, objective thesis (these are not arguments, so be careful to avoid leaning into persuasion)

Each body paragraph must include adequate support: Give the reader adequate support of the topic sentence claims with both Major and minor supporting details (MSDs and msds), and see below for framing of quotes.

Each body paragraph must include two, correctly formatted quotes (a total of six quotes) from at least five different sources. The formatting of quotes must follow the intro, give, explain/defend format for quotes overviewed below and further detailed in the prior assignment instructions.
All quotes must be followed by an MLA-formatted, in-text citation. Example: (Johanson 32).
Example of quote format: Introduce each quote with a Major Supporting Detail (MSD) claim: One indication that these environmental factors play a role in health outcomes is the correlation between stress markers and the individual environment (MSD-I). Give the quote as a minor support (msd) followed by a citation: For instance, an article in the NEJM indicated, “Give Quote (msd-Ia)” (Johanson 32). Explain/defend the quote by offering and additional minor support (msd) explaining what the quote “proves” to the reader: This quote shows/proves/demonstrates/makes clear that the environment is directly related to stress markers and measurable health outcomes (msd-Ib). Etc.
No block quotes.
Note: Only direct quotes that are formatted as such (in quotes and followed by a citation) will be accepted as support. Passages of the submissions that are presented as a student’s own words for the objective presentation of the content will be marked for academic dishonesty and reported as such. Do not rely on the research to write the report. The research should support the report you write.
The paper must end with a conclusion paragraph (restate thesis, restate topic points, & concluding statement)
The paper must include an MLA-formatted works cited page of at least five peer-reviewed, full-text available sources from the OCC databases (no external sources were considered or approved)
The works cited page must begin on a new page with the Works Cited title at the top of a new page following the paper’s conclusion
