Assignment Question

Choose a topic.

Your argumentative claim must be clearly stated in your thesis at the end of your introduction paragraph

You may need to include 1 or 2 body paragraphs of background information for your readers to fully understand the argument

After this, each body paragraph should give a reason and evidence to support your thesis. The reason should be clearly stated in the topic sentence of the paragraph. Don’t try to tackle more than one reason in a single paragraph, and you must have at least 3 reasons to support your thesis.

Once finished addressing your reasons/claims, you must spend at least one paragraph addressing the opposition and potential arguments that could be made. The goal is to point out the flaws in the opposition’s arguments in order to strengthen your own.

Your conclusion paragraph should give a look to the future (i.e. how will this impact people in the coming days/months/years) or propose a future course of action (i.e. what should we do about it?)

You must include a minimum of five sources (maximum of ten)

Three sources must come from books/ebooks or peer-reviewed journals

The rest of the sources can be a combination of peer reviewed or general publications (news websites, magazines, blogs, etc.) General publications must, however, still meet the guidelines for a reliable source. NO WIKIPEDIA.

You are allowed to use any source from your previous papers. Keep in mind, however, that there may be the need to find additional sources as well. What are the formatting guidelines?

10-12 pages double spaced, excluding the cover page and reference page) ● APA style (including a cover page and reference page. No abstract is required) ● At least one quote or paraphrase from each source with proper APA style in text citation (author’s last name, year of publication, and page number or paragraph number) ● 12 Times New Roman, double spaced ● Remember to avoid the statements of “I believe” or “I think” as they are not necessary.
