Communication in leadership

In the first part of your paper, I would like you to answer the following questions:
a. Why is power an important concept in leadership? How can power be abused? Why do some people think of power as a taboo topic? In your response, make sure to talk about some of the specific types of power described in the book.
b. As a leader, what could you do to improve your influence over others? Are there specific elements of influence that might be more meaningful to you than others? Why or why not?
c. How is power and influence connected?
d. Why is dissent important? Provide two different examples of situations where dissent is appropriate from a follower to a leader. In your discussion, make sure to use the proper language from the readings.
3. In the second part of the paper, discuss the scores that you earned on each of the following self-assessments. How does this score reflect your own perspective on power and influence? Are you satisfied with your assessment? Using these assessments and the others that you have completed, are you coming to a more complete understanding of yourself as a leader? Describe.
