Your project should analyze work that fits the course themes. Please avoid overly
popular texts—texts that have been written about extensively.
You should discuss the book (such as Black Dog of Fate by Peter Balakian) via at least two techniques/lenses that we’ve
discussed in class, such as:
● New Historicism, Post-Colonial Theory, & Psychoanalytic theory, etc.
● any of the frameworks, questions, or theories discussed in the course
● historical, cultural, political, and social context, purpose, audience, point
of view, structure, characterization, figurative language, setting, theme,
vivid details & description, style, voice, etc.
