NDQ and A – My Sphere of Influence (25 points)
Review your readings and multi-media resources on specific topics as outlined in this lesson. Your essay reflections should address the following questions. Also, your essay question responses should demonstrate: (1) understanding of the lesson, (2) reflection of your analysis, (3) and citations of lesson resources used to support your ideas.
What are the traits of an inclusive leader? Compare and contrast what it means to be a leader vs being a manager.
Refer to the Sphere of Influence diagram. Who is in your sphere of influence and why?
In what arenas (e.g. work, family, community, friends) do you have the power to make something better?
If you have the power, how do you utilize your current sphere of influence to create change? Provide an example.
Throughout this class the discussion has been about why we need to promote inclusiveness. Currently, hate crimes are increasing directed at one or more of the “isms” (e.g., Racism. Sexism, Classism, Ableism, Anti-Semitism, Ageism and Heterosexism.) This rise is based on a negative prejudgment for the purpose of maintaining control and power. Select one or more of “isms”. Using your sphere of influence, what steps would you take to bring about a change?
