Use Google docs to write the 1st draft of your research paper.
Submit a link to your completed document below, ensuring that anyone with the link has commenting privileges.
Your paper should describe the quantitative aspects of one or more of the topics discussed in the course so far, or describe in-depth a topic that is of particular interest to you that relates to the course material.
Make as many links to material from the course as possible.
Avoid overviews and being too general, less superficial description, more deep explanation.
Papers must be 750–1500 words of text (excluding citations).
Include photos, figures, graphs and tables from your cited sources where appropriate. Try to have at least one per page.
Avoid using verbatim quotations unless absolutely necessary, explanations and descriptions should be in your words only.
Papers must include at least five sourcesfrom outside of the course readings, please include this in your text as footnotes as opposed to endnotes.
Your sources can be papers from the primary literature, reports from reputable agencies/organizations, or online summaries of data posted on reputable sites. Please contact your instructor if you are unsure about the validity of data you have uncovered, particularly if it comes from the web. At minimum, citations should include author’s name, date (year is required for all citations; day and month should be included for newspaper or magazine articles), title, and page number.
You can use whatever format you’d like for your citations, just be consistent.
Internet references should be cited with a page title, a full URL address, and the date accessed.
