Jus ad Bellum – use of force

Description of the legal issue(s).
the focus should be on a legal issue which can be described in terms of, for instance, a problem relating to the interpretation or application or existence/lack of legal sources, the interplay between legal and political initiatives, etc.
Description of the facts of your case. Keep the description of the facts of your topic short and to the point (= less than 1 page). Only have a factual background section if necessary and include only relevant facts – a good indication is whether they are of importance in the legal analysis.
The relevant law and jurisprudence. It is important to identify relevant legal material: treaties, customary law, court decisions, etc. The relevant law should be discussed and interpreted insofar it has any relevance and bearing on the question and the following analysis. Relevant judicial decisions may shed light on the interpretation and application of rules in specific cases. Focus on the legal issues that are relevant to your case and avoid any irrelevant material, which you will not use in your analysis.
The analysis. Here you apply the law to the facts and discuss the legal problem(s), which you have identi-fied; this part should constitute the main part of the synopsis. In terms of structure, you could begin by identifying the legal problem and then describe the facts that form the background of the problem. Then, where available, briefly account for different legal approaches or interpretations that apply to the problem and then have a look at the applicable law and illustrate how the law affects the problem and corresponds with those alternatives. You should explain major differing viewpoints (in the literature or among states etc.) and the legal arguments in favour or against the various interpretations of the law or, if the law is si-lent, the various legal options available in the case. If relevant, highlight the differences between argu-ments of a political nature compared to the legal arguments.
The conclusion. Finally, you should offer a conclusion indicating your solution/response to the legal prob-lem you had started with and your reasoning behind this conclusion.

there are severel documents uploaded which you should preferably use combined with extra sources. you dont have to use all or any of them. only if found helpful.
