Identify the point of view of the story (first person, third person etc?) and explain how it is appropriate to the story.
Analyze the language in the story. Identify any symbols or irony. Describe what is unique about the author’s style of writing (see lecture on language). Include a second quote about the author’s style.
Identify the tone of the story.
State theme and central idea of the story. The theme of the story is the general category/subject of a story. The central idea is the statement this story takes on the theme (see lecture on the central idea). Have a 3rd quote here about the author’s themes or style or life here.
