Objective: Describe the “wounds” of crisis/trauma and their impact on the victim.
Mindset: Demonstrate awareness of the toll that crisis/trauma leaves on the victim.
Instructions
You have already discussed the psychological impact of crisis and trauma with your fellow students in this week’s discussion forum. Now you will take the topic into another application. Imagine you have been asked to give a presentation on the subject to a church or other audience. Think about the term “wound” as the psychological place where the injury is apparent or has occurred. As you work with victims, they will often be in denial that there are any symptoms and it will be your task to sensitively bring the wounds to their attention to be treated and healed.
