I feel that with any advocacy efforts related to policy making we need to consider how society may have impacted older persons with:
An examination of the possible biological and environmental elements that could affect older persons
The impact of culture and socioeconomic status, and if the older adult is Caucasian? African American? From a different culture? In poverty?
An examination the possible impact of society on an older person’s psychopathology (Alzheimer, dementia).
An exploration of the family and community as far as connection with nursing homes. How could these be strengthened to help older persons
An examination of the global perspective, in the USA and what resources are available in other countries or for those immigrated from another country into the USA
